About the Eggs

The freshness of our eggs is guaranteed by our unique position of sourcing all of our eggs locally (predominantly from our own family farm), which are then collected and packed daily. This means that it is not uncommon for our eggs to be in the shops within 24 hours of being laid. It is for this reason some of the country's most demanding (and famous) customers choose us to supply their free range and organic eggs.

In addition, to our own high standards for quality control and welfare all of our eggs are produced under the British Egg Industry Council 'Lion' Code. The British Lion Code denotes eggs produced to a stringent Code of Practice incorporating the latest research and advice on Salmonella.

We are also members of the RSPCA Freedom Foods scheme setup to ensure high welfare standards through their five freedoms code. Their five freedoms are as follows;

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst
2. Freedom from sickness and disease
3. Freedom from fear and distress
4. Freedom from pain and injury
5. Freedom to express normal behavior

We also guarantee that the feed we use for our hens does not contain artificial yolk colorants or genetically modified material.

Traceability. We understand the importance of being able to trace were your food came from. As such, all of our eggs are labelled with a 'Best Before' date, Production Method (1=Free Range, 0=Organic), Country of Origin and Producer code. Used in conjunction with our Quality Control procedures we can trace every egg back to the exact date and flock it was laid. Likewise, because we only ever handle free range eggs you can always feel assured that you are getting the genuine article.

Our eggs are available to buy in local Yorkshire stores of Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's. We also supply directly and in-directly a number of independent retailers and wholesalers throughout the region.
